Snow Emergency Declared for Janesville

Snow Emergency Declared for December 29, 2017 Beginning at 4 p.m.

The City of Janesville has declared a snow emergency for Friday, December 29 beginning at 4 p.m. A snow emergency means that all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until snow plowing operations are complete. To ensure that you do not receive a parking ticket, please move your vehicle prior to 4 p.m. and keep your vehicle off city streets until they have been completely plowed.

Snow and ice accumulations of 1 to 1.5” were forecasted for Thursday, December 28. An additional 1.5 to 2” is expected to fall on Friday, December 29. Main and arterial streets will be maintained throughout the duration of the two snowfall events on Thursday and Friday. The quantity of snow that has accumulated on residential streets over the past few weeks in addition to the new accumulations will warrant a full plow of all City streets, even if the anticipated snowfall predicted for Friday is less than expected.

The full plow will begin on Friday afternoon and is not expected to be completed until early Saturday, although every effort will be made to complete residential streets as soon as possible. Please plan on keeping parked vehicles off the street until plows have completely removed snow from curb to curb.

Snow Emergency Parking
