Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death in East Modesto

Modesto, CA – On 12-28-17 at about 4:27 p.m., Modesto Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Yosemite Meadows Drive and Yosemite Blvd for a man who was found unresponsive by two boys. When the officers arrived, they found the body of the man in some bushes near the Modesto Irrigation District Claus Road power transfer station. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency services personnel.

The area was determined to be Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, and deputies and detectives responded to the scene. Detectives believe the man was an adult male and will need to wait for the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The identity of the victim is not known at this time. Detectives do not know how long the body of the decedent was in the bushes or if he lived in the area.
