Can You Identify This Robbery Suspect?
On 12-21-17, just before 8pm, Berkeley Police responded to an assault and attempted robbery at a Chevron Gas Station at 1300 San Pablo Avenue. The victim reported that the suspect jumped over the counter and began assaulting him. The victim of the assault, a gas station employee, suffered a bloody nose and lips. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The Berkeley Police Department is releasing still photos and surveillance camera footage of the assault to ask for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who committed these crimes. The footage shows the suspect jumping the front counter, assaulting the victim and attempting to open the cash register. Following the assault and attempted robbery, the suspect exited the store and fled westbound on Gilman Street.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, 5-8 to 5’-10”, 160-170 pounds, wearing a black beanie, white hoodie, black jeans and white shoes.
