Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect with help of K9 
DATE/TIME: 12/24/17 3:52 p.m.
INCIDENT: Residential Burglary
LOCATION: 14000 block Palmer RD, El Mirage
SUSPECT(S): Julio Zavala, 35 year old
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the area of Palmer Rd. and De Berry St. in El Mirage. A local resident and his family returned home and discovered an unknown Hispanic male in their house. The victim and his wife scuffled with the suspect to retrieve their stolen property and detain him for deputies. The suspect broke away and ran out of sight into the desert.
Sheriff's K9 Ellie responded and quickly followed the suspect's trail for about 2 miles through the desert where they confronted the suspect. When deputies identified themselves the suspect fled again on foot leading Deputies Williams and Porter on foot pursuit. The suspect was apprehended about a mile away and taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was later identified as Julio Zavala. He has been tied to several other burglaries in the area. Anyone who has additional information about the case or burglaries is encouraged the contact Deputy Williams at the Victor Valley Sheriffs Station.
