*Update* #LASD- Homicide is Responding to a Shooting Death Investigation, 9100 blk of Rosecrans Ave, Bellflower,
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a Hispanic woman and the shooting that resulted in the injury of a Hispanic man that occurred in the 9100 block of Rosecrans Avenue, Bellflower, on Monday, December 25, 2017, at approximately 3:18 p.m.
Deputies arrived at the location in response to a “Gunshot Victim” call and discovered a female who has been identified as the victim. The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. They also found a male, who has been identified as the suspect, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso, which is believed to be self-inflicted. He was transported to a local hospital where his condition is unknown.
Preliminary investigations revealed the victim and the suspect were previously married and are currently divorced. Detectives believe the suspect contacted the victim at the location and during the contact, he produced a firearm and shot her. He then turned the firearm on himself.
The victim and suspect had two children in common, a 6-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter, both of which were present at the time of the crime but were not injured.
