Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Water &Power have an important message for you! Be Aware of Phone Scams

Pasadena Police and Pasadena Water and Power wants you to be aware of a recent fraud attempt. Scammers disguising themselves as PWP employees are attempting to extort money from commercial and residential customers. They are threatening to shut off service unless a payment is made immediately over the phone.

Scammers are using spoofing technology to make appear as if the call is coming from the following PWP phone numbers: (626)744-3739 or (626)744-4005 and are using (855) 613-8173 as their call-back number. Please do not make a payment, it is a SCAM.

PWP would never:
• Demand payment over the phone to settle past due charges
• Instruct you to obtain prepaid gift cards or conduct wire transfers
• Arrange to meet with you in-person to obtain payment
