The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

December 14th

0601 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated an auto burglary on the 35200 block of Lido Boulevard. The loss was cash.

0636 Hours: Officer Slavazza investigated an auto burglary on the 5700 block of Stevenson Boulevard. The loss was a laptop computer and an iPad Mini.

0647 Hours: Officer Fredstrom investigated an auto burglary on Brittany Avenue at Castillon Drive. The loss is unknown at this time.

0836 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated an auto burglary on the 34900 block of Newark Boulevard. The loss includes several bags, a laptop computer and miscellaneous property.

1024 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 33-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant on the 37200 block of Walnut Street. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

1050 Hours: Officer Musantry investigated an auto burglary at Starbucks, 35040 Newark Boulevard. Loss was a suitcase and other personal property.

2158 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 5700 block of Dichondra Place. Officer Pacheco arrested a 47-year-old Newark male for violation of a restraining order and probation violation.

December 15th

1232Hours: Officer Wang investigated a vehicle vandalism case on the 6300 block of Baine Avenue.

1416 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated a residential burglary on the 35000 block of Buckingham Court. The loss was currency.

2046 Hours: Officer Herbert investigated a DUI collision on Cedar Boulevard at Chapman Drive. The driver, a 39-year-old Newark male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

2213 Hours: Officer Quinonez accepted the Citizens Arrest of a 31-year-old Hayward female for grand theft at Macy’s, NewPark Mall. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

0055 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated a hit and run collision on Thornton Avenue at Gateway Boulevard.

December 16th

1247 Hours: Officer Wang investigated three thefts from unlocked vehicles on Falmouth Place and Sussex Place. The loss was a suitcase, copper wire and miscellaneous paperwork.

1259 Hours: Officer Musantry responded to a shoplifting incident at the Shell Gas Station, 6005 Jarvis Avenue. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the Officers arrival.

1306 Hours: Officer Piquette investigated the theft of a Silver 2001 Toyota Camry (CA license # 4VWM497) on the 38200 block of Luma Terrace.

1814 Hours: Officer Quinonez investigated an auto burglary in the Nijo Castle parking lot, 39888 Balentine Drive. The loss was a suitcase.

2205 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 51-year-old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia on Thornton Avenue at Cedar Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0203 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated a non-injury single vehicle accident on Cherry Street at Buena Vista Drive.

December 17th

0942 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated a case of credit fraud on the 36000 block of Barnard Street. The victim had one fraudulent credit account opened in her name and several others were attempted.

0958 Hours: Officer Musantry recovered a U-Haul truck reported stolen out of Turlock on the 8600 block of Thornton Avenue.

1242 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 25-year-old Newhall male for his outstanding warrant on Sycamore Street at Central Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2157 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 20-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant on Cedar Boulevard at Chapman Drive. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

2200 Hours: Officer Wallace contacted and arrested a 37 year old San Jose male for his outstanding warrant in the NewPark Mall parking lot. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
