Suffolk County Police have arrested a Copiague man for robbing five businesses, four at knifepoint, during the past nine months.
 
Following an investigation by First and Seventh Squad detectives, Joseph Putre was charged with Robbery 1^st Degree for robbing the following businesses at knifepoint:
 

• Dunkin Donuts, located at 925 Montauk Highway in Copiague, on December 1 at 10:18 p.m.
• Mastic Liquors, located at 619 Montauk Highway in Mastic, on May 15 at 12:40 p.m.
• Quik Stop, located at 20 Floyd Road in Shirley, on May 14 at 1:19 p.m.
• 7-Eleven, located at 228 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, on April 25 at 1:45 a.m.  

 
Putre was also charged with Robbery 2^nd Degree for robbing Dunkin Donuts, located at 545 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, on May 10 at 2:07 a.m.
 
Putre was scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
