#005 DUI Crash
At 6:07 a.m., we received a call of a vehicle collision in the area of Fremont Blvd and Automall Pkwy.  The caller reported that the driver of the crashed vehicle was throwing bottles out of the vehicle and was possibly DUI.  Officers arrived and located a 20 year old male disoriented and confused, in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.  The vehicle had significant damage, such as the rear bumper was detached and three of the four tires were missing.  The driver was unsure of what caused the damage.  Officers recognized objective symptoms of intoxication and initiated a field sobriety test.  Officers also located a shattered wine bottle in the adjacent lane of traffic.  The driver, a 20 year old adult male, Fremont resident was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. 

Suspicious Circumstance/Mental Health Commitment
At 1:30 p.m., a couple of calls came in reporting a male standing in front of a business on Civic Center waving a large knife.  Officers arrived quickly and located the male.  He was detained at gunpoint and cooperated while being detained.  A knife was recovered from the scene.  The man was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital.

#014 Auto Burglary
Officers were dispatched to a business located in the 46700 block of Mission Blvd to investigate an auto burglary.  The reporting party had entered the business at approximately 9:35 a.m. and left a tote bag and belongings in the front passenger seat.  At 9:45 a.m. a community member advised the victim that her front passenger side window was broken.  There were no witnesses to the crime. The businesses in the area have video and store employees are working to obtain possible footage to assist in the investigation.

#017 Vehicle Theft
At 12:04 p.m., a caller reported they just witnessed a male cut a lock and steal a motocross motorcycle from the an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Belden Terrace. Officers continued follow up on the case, but the stolen motorcycle was not located. 

#023 Vandalism Arrest
At 3:42 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Fremont Blvd and Decoto Rd to investigate a vandalism that just occurred.  The reporting party told dispatch that a male was walking southbound on Fremont Blvd. from Decoto Rd and was tagging objects with a can of orange spray paint.  An officer responding from Decoto Rd., in the southbound direction of Fremont Blvd., noticed a male matching the suspect description with an orange bottle of spray paint in his hand.  As the officer drove behind the male, he watched him spray paint erratic lines on the sidewalk.  Additional officers arrived and when they tried to contact the male, he acted erratically and became irate.  He refused to follow commands and was handcuffed.  During a search of his person a methamphetamine pipe was located.  He was booked at Santa Rita Jail where he continued to yell and threaten officers.  In total, officers located 16 locations of vandalized property, including signs, electrical boxes, trees, mailboxes, traffic signal, a retaining wall, fire hydrant and the sidewalk, between Ferry Lane and Tamayo Street along Fremont Blvd, with an estimated damage of $1885. He was booked on charges of obstructing an executive officer, felony vandalism, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing/resisting and for a probation violation.
