#019, 020 Trespassing and Possession of Methamphetamine
Officers Kwok and Francisco teamed up to provide extra patrols for ongoing trespassing issues at a shopping center located at Decoto Rd. and Fremont Blvd.  They contacted two males, a 61 year old Fremont resident and a 65 year old Union City resident. The 65 year old was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and trespassing and the 61 year old was cited for trespassing.

#016 Fatal Traffic Collision (Refer to Nixle messages sent out on Friday, December 8, 2017)
Units responded to a major injury accident on Argonaut Way involving a vehicle that hit a pedestrian and a large moving trailer that was parked along the curb.  FFD responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene and the driver of the vehicle, Robert Greer, Jr., was arrested for DUI after being treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.  The Traffic Unit is leading this ongoing investigation.   

Street Racing
Sgt. Baca and Sgt. Zambonin coordinated with multiple outside agencies regarding a large scale side show event that was to be held in San Jose.  Nearly all Fremont units deployed to various freeway overpasses throughout the city and turned on their overhead lights. 
At approximately 11 p.m., over 400 hundred side show participants began to gather in the south bay. They were met by officers from several agencies.  Several vehicles entered the south end of our city, however, nothing materialized.

#018 Injury Collision
Officers were dispatched to Niles Canyon approximately one mile east of Mission Boulevard for a head-on collision.  Both drivers were injured and transported to hospitals.  Niles Canyon was closed for approximately two hours until the roadway was cleared of vehicles and cleaned of debris.  A Nixle alert was sent and then updated.  Officer Berrier investigated.

#021 Drunk in Public
Officers were dispatched to the AM PM on Grimmer Blvd to investigate a male who appeared intoxicated.  The caller stated he was chasing cars and yelling at people.  Officer Paiva arrested the adult male for public intoxication and booked him at the Fremont Jail.

#001 DUI Arrest
At 12:01 a.m., Officer Higgins conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fremont and Thornton for a vehicle estimated to be traveling at approximately 60 mph, in a posted 40 mph zone.  He contacted the driver, a 30 year old adult male and after conducting a field sobriety test, arrested him for DUI.  The male initially refused to provide a sample, so Officer Higgins authored a McNeely warrant.  Once the warrant was signed, the male decided to voluntarily provide a sample.

#002 DUI Arrest
At 1:07 a.m., Officers Oliveira and Catassi were working DUI enforcement in the area of Boscell Common and Automall Parkway.  During a traffic stop for front tinted windows (CA VC 26708 a2), they observed objective signs of intoxication.  The driver stated he had just left a bar/nightclub in the area.  The 22 year old male driver was on probation for a prior DUI and was required to submit to a PAS test per the terms of his probation.  After the test was administered, the driver was arrested for DUI and disobeying a court order.

#003 DUI Arrest
At 3:41 a.m., Officer Latimer observed a vehicle spinning donuts in a parking lot in the area of Stevenson Blvd and Stevenson Pl.  A traffic stop was initiated.  The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle pulled over.  When approached, officers observed objective signs of intoxication.  The driver had just left his work Christmas party.  After conducting a field sobriety test and PAS test, officers arrested the 28 year old adult male for DUI.

#021 Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
At 3:56 p.m., Officer Catassi was conducting a security check behind Home Depot in the south end of town, when he noticed a suspicious vehicle driving through the lot.  Officer Catassi ran the license plate and learns the vehicle was reported stolen to Hayward Police.  Officer Catassi decided to follow the vehicle until more units can arrive to help.  The vehicle he was following was described as a 1992 Honda Civic.  The suspects entered the freeway heading south on I680 and a pursuit was initiated.  Fremont PD alerted CHP. Fremont units pursued the vehicle for approximately 9 minutes to the area of I280 and 7th Street in San Jose, then CHP officers took over.  Fremont officers returned to the City.  It was learned that CHP units pursued the vehicle into Santa Cruz where it was turned over to Santa Cruz police.  Shortly after the suspect entered the City of Santa Cruz, the vehicle crashed and the suspect was taken into custody.  He was identified as a 47 year old adult male, Fremont resident.  No further involvement by Fremont Police Officers.
