•Heavy lake effect snow, up to 8-11” in the watch area. Elsewhere, amounts could range from 1 to 4,” but this will depend on how far inland lake effect bands reach and where they set up. A snowfall graphic (weather story) is attached for your use
•Northwest winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 35-45 mph, strongest near Lake Michigan
•Blowing and drifting snow
When:
•Snow starts late tonight (Monday December 11th) and continues into Wednesday morning (December 13th)
•Peak of the event will be from 5 am Tuesday to 8 pm Tuesday evening (December 12th)
Where:
•Portions of Northern Indiana and Southwest Lower Michigan
•Greatest impacts will be in the watch area, but travel may be hazardous outside of the watch area as well. Monitor our webpage for updates to headlines this afternoon
