What & When:
-A clipper System will bring widespread light to moderate snow across the forecast area tonight into Saturday afternoon. Amounts of 1-3” are expected for most areas.
-Lake effect snow will develop Saturday morning and continue until Sunday morning. Snow amounts of 5-9” can be expected in northwest Indiana and far southwest Lower Michigan.
-Blowing & Drifting Snow: Southwest winds at 10 to 20 mph tonight will veer northwest and increase to 20 to 30 mph by Saturday morning. Gusts up to 35 mph can be expected closer to Lake Michigan on Saturday. This will lead to areas of blowing and drifting snow through Sunday morning in northwest Indiana and far southwest Lower Michigan.

Confidence is high in the event occurring, and regarding the forecast snow totals for the warning and advisory areas. We have medium confidence for snow amounts surrounding the warning and advisory areas, and will be monitoring the latest weather model data to see if conditions in these locations (particularly Elkhart County, IN and Cass County, MI) will need to be included in the winter weather advisory.
