“Police Blotter” Highlights – Ending Dec. 3, 2017
ROBBERIES
On Monday, Nov. 27th, around 1:30 p.m., Ofc. Olson was dispatched to the 1700 block of Decoto Rd. for the report of a robbery. The victim said he was in the men’s restroom at Kennedy Park, when four suspects battered him and stole his wallet. He described all four suspects as black males, 16-18 years old.
On Wednesday, Nov. 29th, around 2:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to James Logan High School for a robbery. The victim said she was in the area of Hartnell St. and Syracuse Ave. when an unknown female approached her and asked what kind of phone she had. She then grabbed the phone out of the victim’s hand and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white female in her 30s or 40s, 5’2” to 5’4” and 110-120 lbs.
SHOOTING AT VEHICLE
On Monday, Nov. 27th, around 6:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Mission Blvd. and Tamarack Dr. on the report of a shooting. The victim said that a suspect fired one round at her vehicle following a road rage incident. No one was injured.
PROACTIVE ENFORCEMENT
On Wednesday, Nov. 29th, around 3:30 p.m., Det. DeJong and Det. Seto conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mission Blvd. and Tamarack Dr. A search of the vehicle yielded various narcotics; evidence indicative of sales; a loaded, concealed handgun; and evidence of identity theft and fraud. Michael Hinojoza, a 24-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for numerous weapons- and drug-related offenses. Jennifer Moore, a 35-year-old Hayward resident, was arrested for identity theft and various drug-related offenses.
BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Nov. 27th through Sunday, Dec. 3rd, there were five reported residential burglaries:
- 31200 block of San Andreas Dr.: Occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 29th, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A rear window was smashed, and the loss included jewelry and cash.
- 32500 block of Point Lobos Ct.: Occurred on Thursday, Nov. 30th, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. The method of entry is unknown, and the loss included electronics and jewelry.
- 34300 block of Myrtle Lane: Occurred on Friday, Dec. 1st, between 11:25 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. After knocking on the door for about 30 minutes, a Hispanic male suspect broke a window next to the front door. As he put his hand through the broken window and attempted to unlock the front door, the resident yelled at him and he fled on foot.
- 4800 block of Michelle Way: Occurred on Friday, Dec. 1st, between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Two doors were kicked in, and the loss included an iPad and credit cards.
- 33000 block of Garfinkle St.: Occurred on Friday, Dec. 1st, between 4:10 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. The method of entry is unknown, and the loss included jewelry.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Nov. 27th through Sunday, Dec. 3rd, there were five reported commercial burglaries:
- 33000 block of Western Ave.: Occurred between Friday, Nov. 17th at 4 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 27th at 7 a.m. It appears a suspect climbed in a window and entered a locked office through a ceiling panel. The loss included cash.
- 1700 block of Decoto Rd.: Occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 28th, around 4 a.m. A suspect was located in the business’ restroom while the business was closed. Eric Arnold, a 36-year-old Richmond resident, was arrested for burglary and trespassing.
- 34600 block of Alvarado Niles Rd.: Occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 29th, around 6 a.m. A female suspect was observed using a set of keys to try to open the business’ coin-operated machines. She was unsuccessful and left.
- 35700 block of Alvarado Niles Rd.: Occurred between Tuesday, Nov. 28th at 5 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 29th at 8 a.m. The lock was cut off a conex box, and the loss included construction equipment.
- 29400 block of Kohoutek Way: Occurred on Thursday, Nov. 30th, around 5:20 a.m. A male suspect broke the glass door and stole a subwoofer.
AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, Nov. 27th through Sunday, Dec. 3rd, there were 10 reported auto burglaries and one attempt. Eight of the burglaries occurred at the Union Landing shopping center, and many of them involved laptop bags and other items that were left in plain view on the front or rear seats.

From Monday, Nov. 27th through Sunday, Dec. 3rd, there were 11 reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, seven of the vehicles have been recovered.
