Homicide Detectives are investigating a murder/suicide at an apartment complex

INCIDENT: Murder/Suicide Investigation
LOCATION: Avana Apartment Complex - 10400 Arrow Route, Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM: Male juvenile, 4 years old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT: Female adult, 29 years old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:34 a.m. deputies responded to the Avana Apartments following a report from an employee of the apartment complex of a deceased person inside an apartment. Employees received complaints of a foul odor coming from the apartment and made entry where they found a deceased juvenile. Deputies confirmed a male juvenile and an adult female were deceased inside.
Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded to conduct the investigation. At this point, Investigators believe the female killed the child and then took her own life. Investigators are not releasing any additional information at this time. Updates will be issued as new information becomes available.
