Windsor woman assaulted during walk. Witness in plumbing van being sought.

Deputies assigned to the Windsor Police Department are investigating a sexual assault. The incident occurred last night at about 5:00 PM when a 50-year-old Windsor woman was walking near Brooks Rd and Arata. A suspect, who was described as a Hispanic male, about 18-years-old, 5-8 with a stout build came up behind her and grabbed her buttocks. When the victim turned around to confront him, the suspect continued to try and grab her buttocks and made crude sexual remarks to her.

The suspect then ran away, northbound on a path towards Arata Ln, then east on Arata then south on Elsbree Ln. The victim was unable to keep up but another citizen observed a man in a white plumbing van chasing after the suspect and caught up with him. Neither the citizen nor the man in the plumbing van knew exactly what happened prior to this. The man in the plumbing van caught up to the suspect and exchanged words, eventually letting the suspect go.

The Windsor Police Department would like to interview the man who helped in the white plumbing van and are asking him to call the station at 707-838-1234. We are also asking for the public’s assistance. If anyone knows anything about the suspect or saw him acting suspiciously in that area yesterday, we’d like to hear from you.

Lastly, we’d like to put out a word of caution. This suspect was aggressive in his behavior so please use caution and stay aware of your surroundings if you intend to walk after dark.
