Joshua Lay arrested for multiple vehicle burglaries

LOCATION: Mojave River Forks Dam – Deep Creek Spillway
SUSPECT: Joshua Allen Lay, of Hesperia
SUMMARY:
On Monday, October 23, 2017, at 11:12 am, a vehicle burglary was reported. The victim had parked their vehicle at the entrance to Deep Creek Spillway and when they returned some time later found their vehicle broken into. Additional vehicle burglaries were reported on Monday, October 30, 2017, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 and Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
The burglary cases were assigned to Detective Robbi DeBois of Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station. Detective DeBois developed leads related to these burglaries, which resulted in the issuance of a search warrant for a residence in the 18000 block of Sycamore Street in the City of Hesperia.
During the service of the search warrant property belonging to victims in these burglaries was recovered. Joshua Allen Lay was arrested for the burglaries and booked at High Desert Detention Center. Lay later posted bail and was released.
