Traffic Collision at Mojave Drive and East Trail

INCIDENT: Minor Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Mojave Drive / East Trail
SUMMARY: On December 3, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided with a semi-truck, at the intersection of Mojave Drive and East Trail.
A 2000 Honda Civic, traveling eastbound on Mojave Drive, struck and became lodged underneath a 2015 semi-truck. The driver of the semi, a 62-year old Victorville man, failed to yield at the stop sign on East Trail while turning left onto Mojave Drive and drove into the path of the Honda.
The driver of the Honda, a 26-year old Victorville man, was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. A 24-year old female and a 5-year old child were passengers in the Honda. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for arm pain and abrasions. The child, who was restrained in a car seat, did not suffer any visible injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the semi was uninjured and was cited for failure to yield.
