On 10/28/17, a road rage incident occurred in the area of Overland Ave and Palm Court. After a brief exchange of words, the suspect brandished a black pellet handgun and fired several rounds at the victim, striking her windshield several times.
KTLA News covered the story asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Detective Arney was assigned the case and received an anonymous tip with a name and a possible location. As a result, the suspect was located and arrested in the vehicle that he used in the road rage incident. Also, a subsequent search of the suspect’s residence yielded a black pellet handgun that he used to shoot at the victim.
Detective Arney interviewed the suspect and obtained a full confession to the crime. This is another fine example of the community and police department working together to apprehend a violent offender.
