Fatal Crash on Fresh Ponds Road Sunday. Road Closure - DEANS LANE

 Fatal Crash Sunday
 A Bergen County teenager has died as a result of injuries she suffered in a one car crash on Fresh Ponds Road Sunday evening. South Brunswick Police were called at 6:31pm to Fresh Ponds Road near Selma Drive for a vehicle off the roadway into a tree. The teenager was operating a 2012 Honda Pilot headed eastbound on Fresh Ponds Road when it left the roadway on a curve and struck a tree.
The Monmouth Junction Fire Department responded to the crash. Firefighters extricated the victim after thirty minutes. South Brunswick EMS and paramedics took the teenager to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She succumbed to her injuries at 6am this morning at the hospital. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The collision forced the closure of Fresh Ponds Road from 6:30pm to 11pm.

Police are not releasing the teenager’s name at this time

Deans Lane will be also closed in both directions at the train underpass between Blackhorse Lane and Georges Road from 8pm to 6am starting tonight Monday December 4, 2017 till Friday December 8, 2017.

PSE&G will be doing utility pole repairs.  Detours will be set up.

Vehicles should use Adams Lane in North Brunswick or Route 522 to get between Route 130 and Route 1.
