The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety would like to remind residents about the LexisNexis Community Crime Map. LexisNexis Community Crime Map is an online, interactive crime mapping program that allows residents and visitors to input an address and view crime activity for their requested area. The site is free to the public and includes optional email updates and a phone application.
The map allows you to view and filter crime data in an interactive map and analytics dashboard to become better informed about crime activity in your area. You can also sign up for crime alerts to be sent directly from local law enforcement.
The LexisNexis Community Crime Map compiles crime data and other information from law enforcement agencies to make it easier for the public to stay informed about crime. You can access the crime map 24 hours a day through the website (http://communitycrimemap.com/) or through the free Community Crime Map iPhone app, available for download from the Apple iTunes store. Residents can sign up for free customizable email alerts, so they can be alerted about crime in their neighborhood.
The map includes:
Type of crime reported
Case number
Date and time report entered
Public address
The map does NOT include:
Complainant/victim/suspect names
Specific details of incident
Outcome of case (open, arrest made, unfounded, etc.)
