“Police Blotter” Highlights – Ending Nov. 26, 2017
GRAND THEFT
On Monday, Nov. 20th, between 7:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., all four tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle in the 30 block of Union Square.
ROBBERIES
On Thursday, Nov. 23rd, around 2:30 a.m., Ofc. Lings and Ofc. Jimenez were dispatched to the 32200 block of Alvarado Niles Rd. on the report of a robbery. A male suspect, who appeared to be holding a gun in the sleeve of his sweatshirt, demanded money from the cashier. He then fled on foot. On Tuesday, Nov. 28th, another law enforcement agency arrested a robbery suspect who matched the suspect description. The 19-year-old Oakland resident admitted to the Union City robbery, in addition to robberies in other jurisdictions.
VEHICLE THEFT ARRESTS
On Saturday, Nov. 25th, around 8:30 p.m., Ofc. Jensen was on Whipple Rd. when he located a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Union City earlier in the week. The driver was also in possession of a large amount of automobile keys. Yair Roque, a 22-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for vehicle theft, the possession of burglary tools, and driving with a suspended license.
On Sunday, Nov. 26th, around 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Union Landing on the report of an assault with a deadly weapon. A subject stated that his friend had been stabbed in the parking lot. Ultimately, it was determined that no stabbing had occurred, and the subject was a shoplifting suspect. The shoplifted items were found in a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Oakland. Kenneth Williams, a 39-year-old San Leandro resident, was arrested for vehicle theft, shoplifting, and the possession of a controlled substance.
BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Nov. 20th through Sunday, Nov. 26th, there was one reported residential burglary:
- 31100 block of Alvarado Niles Rd.: Occurred on Thursday, Nov. 23rd, between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. It appears the front door was pried open, and the loss included jewelry. Fremont PD made a vehicle stop around 4 p.m. and located the stolen property, which was returned to the victim. Two females, 26 and 36, both out of Oakland, were arrested.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, Nov. 20th through Sunday, Nov. 26th, there were no reported commercial burglaries.
AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, Nov. 20th through Sunday, Nov. 26th, there were two reported auto burglaries. They both occurred at shopping centers and involved laptop bags and purses that were left in plain view on the front or rear seats.

From Monday, Nov. 20th through Sunday, Nov. 26th, there were five reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, four of the vehicles have been recovered.
