Additional suspect arrested in connection with a Commercial Burglary on 11/26/17

Update 11-30-2017:

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at about 5:30 PM, members of the Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted a follow-up investigation to the commercial burglary that occurred on 11/26/17, at a business located in the 34000 block of Monterey Ave.

BSU members identified 39-year-old, Palm Desert resident, Jeremy Ketchem as another suspect involved in the burglary. Jeremy Ketchem was located at the corner of Washington Street and Avenue 42, located within the unincorporated community of Bermuda Dunes. A parole search of his residence was conducted and additional stolen property from the commercial burglary was located. Ketchem was arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, located in the city of Banning for burglary and other related charges.

Original Incident Details:

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at about 4:30 AM, Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to an alarm call at a business located in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert. The Investigation revealed the suspect(s) had accessed the business by cutting a hole through the wall of the adjoining business.

The Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit responded, assumed the investigation, and were able to identify 47-year-old, Palm Desert resident, Mark McGowan, as a suspect involved in the burglary. A search warrant was authored and served at a residence located in the 42700 block of Wisconsin Avenue, located within the city of Palm Desert, where McGowan was located and arrested. Deputies also recovered stolen property related to the burglary at the residence. McGowan was booked into the Riverside County Jail, located in the city of Indio for burglary and conspiracy.
