SUMMARY:

On November 28, 2017 at 9:35 am, deputies received a 911 call of an armed robbery that occurred on Villa Street in city of Adelanto.

The victim contacted the suspect, Kori Barry, through the "Facebook Market Place" application to respond to an ad she had placed for the sale of an Apple Ipod. Barry told the victim to meet her at the corner of Villa Street and Allison Street and she would sell her the Ipod for $100 dollars. When the victim arrived at the location, Barry and an unknown black male adult approached the victim's vehicle. Barry pointed a black semi automatic handgun at the victim and demanded money from him. The victim gave Barry $100 cash and the two suspects fled on foot. The victim attempted to follow them but lost them. The victim went home and called the Sheriff's department for assistance.

Deputies developed information as to the identity of Barry and where she resided. A witness saw the victim chasing Barry and was able to identify Barry through a photographic lineup. A search warrant was authored and served at Barry's residence located on 15000 block of Sequoia Avenue in Hesperia. Barry was not home but a few hours later Barry turned herself in at the Victor Valley Station. Barry was arrested for PC 211, armed robbery and booked at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held on $200,000.00 bail.
