The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
November 29th
0828 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated an auto burglary at Starbucks, 5741 Stevenson Boulevard. The loss was a laptop computer.
0951 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 6200 block of Mayhew Landing Road. A 45-year-old Newark male was arrested for violation of a restraining order. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
1159 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes recovered a reported stolen 1999 Volvo V70 on Locust Street at Wells Avenue. The vehicle was released to the registered owner.
1636 Hours: Officer Rivas accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 32-year-old male shoplifter at Macy’s, NewPark Mall. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
1709 Hours: Officer Horst investigated a hit and run accident on Thornton Avenue at Cedar Boulevard.
2157 Hours: Officer D. Johnson and Field Training Officer Norvell investigated an auto burglary in the AMC Theater, NewPark Mall parking lot. The loss was a camera.
