*UPDATE* #LASD, Missing Person, 83-Year-Old, Lisa Hamilton-Wear of Topanga Found Safe in Woodland Hills

At 5:15 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lost Hills Station, supported greatly through the efforts of the Malibu Search & Rescue team located the critical missing person Lisa Hamilton-Wear, an 83 year old woman with dementia from the Topanga area.

Reserve Deputy David Katz said the search had a total of fifty people including deputies, reserve deputies, Los Angeles County Fire Department fire fighters (LACoFD), State Park Rangers and volunteers who actively searched the Topanga area and neighboring communities. Katz advised that six search dogs and helicopters from both LASD and LACoFD were also deployed to assist with the search.

Shortly after the Silver Alert was put out by LASD, several calls came into the command post.  As the leads were being tracked down, Los Angeles Police Department personnel received a call of a woman matching the description of the missing person at a cafe at 21600 Victory Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The cafe manager, Hector Gomez, concerned because the elderly woman looked disheveled and disoriented, called 911.  The quick response from LAPD officers to the restaurant helped identify Ms. Hamilton-Wear.

Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s personnel were contacted and responded to the location.  Ms. Lisa Hamilton-Wear was found disheveled but in fair condition.  Paramedics were called to check on her health as a precautionary measure and deputies provided her a meal as she had not eaten anything since leaving her home the night before.

Ms. Hamilton-Wear was happily reunited with her daughter.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department personnel would like to thank everyone involved for their help in locating Ms. Lisa Hamilton-Wear and reuniting her with her family.
