Police Blotter November 21st through November 26th

November 21st

Warrant – S. 53rd St / Cypress Ave:
At 2009 hours, an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and arrested a 27-year-old Richmond man on an Emeryville warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to County Jail.

November 22nd

Warrant Arrest - 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0731 hours, an officer contacted a 57-year-old San Francisco man during a suspicious subject call. He was wanted on a misdemeanor San Mateo County shoplifting warrant. The man was arrested, booked and released on a citation.

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1228 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting. Three juvenile suspects, two white male juveniles and a black male juvenile entered the store and stole four drones and various perfume items.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Hill St:
At 1649 hours, an officer contacted a 22-year-old Richmond woman during a suspicious vehicle check. She was wanted on a felony Richmond Police Department warrant for Domestic Violence. She was direct transported to the RPD.

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1709 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting. The suspect described as a black male, 40’s, 5’07”, short gray hair, wearing sunglasses medium build, wearing black leather jackets, gray or tan pants loaded a cart full of items and pushed it out the front. He then got onto a white bicycle with orange writing and fled. He was described as a chronic shoplifter.

Warrant – Elm St / Willow St:
At 1843 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted person and arrested a 43-year-old male transient on a no cite Contra Costa County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI Collision – San Pablo Ave / Knott Ave:
At 2059 hours, an officer witnessed a collision and determined one of the drivers, a 26-year-old man from Pinole, was DUI. He was arrested, booked at ECPD, and then released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle, Possess Controlled Substance – Central Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 0110 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a 1995 Honda Civic. A records check of the VIN determined it was a cold plated stolen vehicle from San Rafael. It was reported stolen on 9/27/17. The 35 year old male driver from Richmond was arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamines. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Vandalism – (Chef’s) 233 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0205 hours, Officers responded to a fight near Trader Joe’s. Reports indicated one of the subjects had a gun. Upon arrival it was determined no gun was seen. One of the subjects, an Asian male wearing a tan jacket, threw the metal lid of a trashcan through a front window at Chef’s. He fled northbound through the Plaza.

Arson – 11760 San Pablo Ave:
At 0454 hours, El Cerrito Fire requested police respond to a suspicious fire in a stairwell. Officers responded and determined the carpet in the stairwell was lit on fire. It appeared intentional and there was no suspect description.

November 23rd

Warrant Arrest / Methamphetamine Possession - 11965 San Pablo Ave:
At 0910 hours, Officers contacted a 54-year-old Berkeley man during a bicycle stop. He was wanted on a Berkeley PD warrant and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked and cited released.

Auto Burglary - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1146 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 1125 and 1140 hours, an unidentified suspect forced the lock on a 2001 Honda Accord. Once inside they attempted to force the ignition but were unsuccessful. They then opened the trunk and stole a briefcase containing a laptop computer.

Shoplifting - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1152 hours, an officer was flagged down regarding a shoplifting that had just occurred. A 44-year-old Berkeley woman stole meat and fled the store. She was contacted and found to have a warrant for auto theft from Berkeley. She was arrested, booked, cited on the ECPD charges and transported to the MDF for the warrant.

Residential Burglary - 5400 block of Zara Dr:
At 1501 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 1400 hours on 11/22/2017 and 1400 hours on 11/23/2017, an unidentified suspect pried open the side door and made entry. Once inside it appears they stole an old TV and a laptop computer.

Shoplifting, Probation Violation – (CVS) 10605 San Pablo Ave:
At 1851 hours, an officer responded to a theft. The 22-year-old female suspect from Richmond was detained outside and placed under citizen arrest. She is a known habitual theft suspect and on felony probation in Contra Costa. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

Warrant – 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 0215 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 19-year-old male from Berkeley on a Berkeley PD warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then cited.

November 24th

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 1230 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 35-year-old Oakland man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1557 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 50-year-old Richmond man after he stole merchandise from the business. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

November 25th

Warrant arrest – (Walgreen’s) 11565 San Pablo Ave:
Walgreens employees called about a theft that just occurred from the business. An officer located the suspect, a 45-year-old Oakland man and found that he had a warrant for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vandalism - (Los Moles) 6120 Potrero Ave:
At 1801 hours, an officer reported an unidentified suspect shattered a large window pane at the restaurant. The damage was over $1000.00. The suspect is described as a BFA wearing all dark clothing.

November 26th

Warrant arrest – 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1230 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 26-year-old Vacaville man for an outstanding warrant. The man was cited at the scene.
