October 30th

Recovered Stolen Motor Scooter - Lexington Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 1104 hours, an officer located a stolen 2006 PIaggio motor scooter reported as stolen to the ECPD on 10-27-2017. It was located a block from where it was stolen with the ignition ripped out.

Stolen Vehicle - 300 EC Plaza:
At 1426 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto theft. In between 1300 and 1400 hours, an unidentified suspect stole the victim’s white 1995 Infinity j30. It was later recovered in Oakland.

Shoplifting – (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1511 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft of alcohol. A black male, approx. 40-years-old, wearing an orange and yellow safety vest and a blue hat stole bottles of alcoholic beverage and fled on a 10 speed bicycle.

Robbery – (Spirit Halloween) 460 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1731 hours, an officer responded to a disturbance at Spirit Halloween. The victim and the suspect, described as a 40-50 year old black female, engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical when the suspect pushed and then struck the victim. The suspect was with some other females who also joined in the physical assault. The victim had her cell phone in her hand when assault began but no longer had it with her when it was over and the victim was unable to locate it on the ground or in the store and believes one of the females who assaulted her took it during the altercation.

Hit and Run Collision with Injury – San Pablo Ave / Hill St:
At 1859 hours, an Officer responded to a collision. The driver of a vehicle was travelling northbound on San Pablo Ave and changed lanes but was unable to stop in time for the stopped traffic. The vehicle struck the vehicle causing a several vehicle accident. The driver exited his vehicle to inspect the damage and then fled on foot. The driver was identified as an 18-year-old male from Richmond.

Warrant – Tehama Ave / Carlson Ave:
At 0135 hours, an Officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 41-year-old female from Berkeley on a no cite Berkeley Warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to county jail.

DUI Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Wall St:
At 0350 hours, an Officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 24-year-old man from Berkeley for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

October 31st

Arson - 11700 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 0554 hours, Officers responded to the report of a suspicious fire. An intentional fire was set on the third floor stairwell landing. It appeared a transient set the fire due to the mattress, pile of clothing and bottles of urine nearby. The ECFD located the fire when they responded to a fire alarm. ECFD advises of ongoing issues with transients flooding the stairwell by opening the fire system valves or smoking in the stairwell and setting off the sprinklers.

Battery – 500 block of Albemarle Street:
At 1951 hours, officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported he was giving out candy and a group of juveniles approached and took the entire bowl and began walking away. The victim then approached the group and told them what they did was wrong. One of the juveniles pushed the victim and then the group of juveniles began pushing and punching the victim. During the altercation the victim fell to the ground and hit his head on the ground causing a laceration on the back of his head. The victim was transported to the hospital. The juveniles were located at the El Cerrito Plaza BART and identified as the suspects. Two male juveniles from Richmond, one 15 and one 17, were arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released to their mothers.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – BART Path and Blake Street:
At 2220 hours, Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The suspect ordered the victim to get on the ground and look down which the victim did. The suspect then took the victim’s wallet and phone and fled south on the BART Path. Suspect was described as an unknown race male, 5’6” tall, approximately 130 pounds. The male was wearing a dark colored sweater, dark colored pants and wearing a black mask with a white pattern on it.

Felony DUI – San Pablo Avenue / Van Fleet Avenue:
At 0318 hours, an Officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 24-year-old female driver from Richmond for DUI. Additionally, she had three DUI convictions within the last 10 years and was on DUI probation. She was booked at the ECPD and transported to MDF.

November 1st

Residential Burglary – 2300 block of Edith Ave:
At 1110 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 2300 hours and 1030 hours, an unidentified suspect broke off the door knob to force entry.

Robbery – (Parking Lot of Mechanics Bank) 9996 San Pablo Ave:
At 1640 hours, Officers responded to the report of a robbery. An elderly female was getting in her car when she was confronted by a white male, 40’s wearing a dark colored shirt over a hoody and glasses. He grabbed her checkbook and ripped it from her hands after a brief struggle.

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1655 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter. The suspect was described as a BMA, 18 years old, 5’04”, thin build, blue jacket and green jacket stole food and fled.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Panama Ave:
At 1938 hours, an Officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 45-year-old Richmond man on a Placer County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance – Central Ave / Pierce St:
At 2023 hours, an Officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 49-year-old Richmond man on a no cite Contra Costa Warrant. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamines and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD, cited on the new charges, and then transported to MDF on the warrant.

November 2nd

Auto Burglary – 5600 block of MacDonald Ave:
At 0815 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 10/31/2017 and 11/01/2017 at 0815 hours, an unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle and ransacked the interior.

Auto Burglary – 2000 block of Tapscott Ave:
At 0855 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 11/1/2017 at 0730 hours and 11/2/2017, an unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle and stole $25.00.

Auto Burglary – (Noodle Fresh) 10042 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1910 and 2030 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the left rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a messenger bag containing a MacBook Pro laptop.

Auto Burglary – (Noodle Fresh) 10042 San Pablo Ave:
Between 1000 and 2030, an unknown suspect shattered the right sliding door window of the victim’s minivan and stole a handbag containing clothing and three vases. The minivan was parked right next to the above mentioned vehicle.

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Arlington Blvd:
Between 1700 and 2040 hours, an unknown suspect broke the driver’s window and left rear window and stole a backpack containing the victim’s wallet and electronics.

November 3rd

Auto burglary – 1300 block of Contra Costa Ave:
Between 11/1/17 at 1530 hours and 11/3/17 at 0745 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s passenger windows and rummaged the interior.

Battery – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 1022 hours, two females got into a physical fight after one of them spat on the other. Neither party wanted for the other to go to jail.

Residential burglary – 500 block of Oak Street:
Between 1200 and 1320 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s home between 1200 and 1320 and lightly ransacked the interior.

DUI, Hit and run – San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 1605 hours, officers were dispatched to a hit and run collision. Albany PD located the suspect vehicle after it fled southbound on San Pablo Ave. and conducted a traffic stop. An officer spoke with the driver, a 40-year-old New York man and found that he was heavily intoxicated and possibly under the influence of drugs as well. The man was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. Following booking, the man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Narcotics - San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 2011 hours an officer conducted a bicycle stop and contacted a 41-year-old Pleasant Hill male and determined he was in possession of 33 misc. narcotic pills. The man was transported to ECPD for processing. At the conclusion of the booking process the man was cite released.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 0032 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a passenger, a 30-year-old Vallejo male, and determined he had a misdemeanor warrant. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and released with a citation.

DUI Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0245 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 36-year-old Hayward female, and determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol and was transported to ECPD for processing. The woman was later released with a citation.

November 4th

Warrant arrest – Cutting Blvd / Peerless Ave:
At 0906 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 25-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – 6009 Potrero Ave:
At 0300 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s rear passenger window and stole two backpacks containing clothing.

Auto burglary – 6009 Potrero Ave:
At 0300 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s front passenger window and stole a backpack containing schoolbooks.

Battery – 300 El Cerrito Plaza:
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 53-year-old El Cerrito man after he struck the victim in the face. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1225 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear window of a delivery van and stole 2 packages.

Grand theft – 800 block of S. 53rd Street:
Between 11/3/17 at 1600 hours to 11/04/06 1330 hours, an unknown suspect entered a house under construction and stole 2 car batteries and a battery charger. The suspect gained entry to the residence via the house keys he found when he stole property from the victim’s automobile.

DUI - San Pablo Ave / Blake St:
At 2313 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 40-year-old Richmond male, and determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was transported to ECPD and later released after providing a breath sample.

DUI Arrest - Potrero Blvd / Eastshore Blvd:
At 0044 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 28-year-old San Leandro female, and determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol. The woman was transported to ECPD for processing and provided a breath sample.

Trespassing, Drug Paraphernalia - (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 0058 hours officers were sent to the business for an audible alarm. Upon arrival officers were checking the front of the business when the alarm company called to advise they could see a subject inside of the business in the rear storage area. A 33-year-old Richmond male was contacted exiting the rear of the business and taken into custody.

November 5th

Warrant Arrest - (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2256 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check and contacted the driver, a 48-year-old Antioch female, and determined she had a misdemeanor warrant. The woman was arrested and transported to county jail.

Drug Possession, Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing Justice, False ID to Officer Arrest - 1900 Block of Downey Place:
At 0021, an officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle which may be casing the area. Upon arrival the officer contacted a 43-year-old local male, who provided a false name. A search of the van revealed drug paraphernalia as well as methamphetamine and heroin. A 38-year-old female was contacted exiting a nearby residence and tried to help the male by also identifying him with the same false name he provided. The female also advised the narcotics in the vehicle belonged to her. When she was taken into custody she asked for her purse from inside of the residence. The officer retrieved the bag from the female’s mother and the purse also contained heroin. Both were cited and released.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance - 1900 Block of Key Blvd:
At 0300 hours, an officer conducted a bicycle stop and contacted a 46-year-old Richmond male. It was determined he was under the influence of methamphetamine, however no other contraband was located on his person. The man was transported to ECPD for processing and then to county jail.

November 6th

Warrant Arrest - 500 block of Bonnie Drive:
At 1905 hours, an officer went to the residence to serve an outstanding felony warrant on a 28-year-old local male and determined he was there. The man was arrested and transported to ECPD for processing and then to county jail.

Petty Theft, Warrant Arrest - (CVS) 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1955 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 28-year-old Oakland male and a 19-year-old Oakland female for shoplifting. The male also had an outstanding warrant. Both were cited and released.

Stolen Vehicle Report - Liberty St / Central Ave:
At 2029 hours, an officer responded to a report of a stolen 2017 green Toyota RAV 4. The victim might’ve left his car on without knowing because it is a hybrid vehicle. Time of occurrence was between 5:45 PM and 8:28 PM.

November 7th

Battery – (Chevron) 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 1030 hours, an officer responded to the report of a battery. At 0610 hours, a black male, approx. 30 years old, 5’08”, thin build, dark clothing and dreads took a can of soda and threw it at the clerk.

Battery On a Peace Officer, Delaying Officer – (Chase Bank) 9950 San Pablo Ave:
At 1832 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject sleeping in the parking lot and contacted a 52-year-old woman from Oakland. The woman refused to identify herself and refused to leave. She then spit on the officer when he asked her to move along. She was arrested and transported to the ECPD. She continued to refuse to identify herself and was fingerprinted and positively identified. She was booked and then transported to MDF.

Public Intoxication – 340 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1912 hours, an officer responded to a call of intoxicated males in front of the business. He arrived and contacted a 58-year-old male transient and a 57-year-old male transient. Both were heavily intoxicated. Both were arrested and booked directly into MDF.

Warrant – 460 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 0127 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 57-year-old female from Berkeley on a Berkeley PD warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and released on her signed promise to appear.

November 8th

Auto Burglary - 1400 block of Devonshire Drive:
At 0820 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect broke the window of a vehicle, conducted a ransack of the interior but didn’t take anything.

Auto Burglary - 2300 block of Alva Ave:
At 0901 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect broke the window of a vehicle, conducted a ransack and stole a stereo system.

Commercial Burglary - 11740 San Pablo Ave:
At 1345 hours, an officer responded to the report of a burglary. An unidentified suspect entered a restaurant with the intent to commit a theft. The restaurant was closed at the time. The suspect stole a laptop computer off the counter and fled.

Warrant - 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 1601 hours, an officer contacted a 36-year-old New York man who had a $5k Antioch PD misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested, booked and cited.

Shoplifting - 6000 EC Plaza:
At 1721 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at Bed Bath and Beyond. A white male adult, 25-year-old wearing a white tee-shirt and black female, 25-years-old, black sweater, blue jeans stole stereo equipment and fled. They were last seen getting on the AC Transit 72 bus.

Possess Controlled Substance – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0236 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 28-year-old Richmond man for possession of meth. He was released on a citation in the field.

Possess Controlled Substance & Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave / MacDonald Ave:
At 0236 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 21-year-old Richmond man for possession of meth and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

November 9th

Domestic Violence - 1000 block of King Drive:
At 1312 hours, the victim came to the ECPD and reported that she was slapped last night during an argument with her live in boyfriend and father of child, a 24-year-old man from El Cerrito. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Warrant - 1751 Eastshore Blvd:
At 1716 hours, an officer responded to the report of a suspicious person and contacted a 38-year-old Sacramento woman. She was wanted on a felony warrant, arrested, booked, and transported to County Jail.
