Fairfield Police Arrest Two Men Following Shooting Early Sunday

Fairfield Police arrested two men early Sunday morning following a shooting in the 2200 Block of Peach Tree Drive.  Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the area at 2:52 am.  Officers responded and located evidence that a shooting had taken place, but they did not locate anybody who had been shot.
 
During the officers’ investigation, several witnesses came forward with information.  Detectives were called to the scene and obtained a search warrant for a residence in which the suspects had reportedly fled to.  Following the service of the search warrant, officers recovered two guns and evidence of the shooting.  They arrested 19 year old Mathew Behnamnia and 21 year old Daniel Gutierrez, both Fairfield residents. 
 
Behnamnia was booked for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and violation of probation.  Gutierrez was booked for shooting at an inhabited dwelling, possession of a loaded firearm, and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
