SUMMARY: On November 21, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a reported hit and run.
The victim, an off-duty California Highway Patrol officer, exited Interstate 15 at Mojave Drive. While stopped at the stop sign his vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, a green Chevy Trail Blazer, fled the scene. The victim followed the suspect to a shopping area at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road. The victim parked his vehicle, believing the suspect intended to do the same, and got out to exchange information. The suspect did not park the car and appeared to be attempting to hit the victim with his vehicle. Fearing for his safety and that of his child, who was in his vehicle, the victim fired two rounds at the suspect vehicle from his off-duty firearm. The suspect fled the scene and is still outstanding.
