...AREAS OF DENSE FOG OVER PORTIONS OF THE PIEDMONT AND UPSTATE... .Skies have cleared this morning across much of the Western Carolinas. Lingering low level moisture has set the stage for areas of dense fog to develop over eastern and southern portions of the forecast area as skies clear. A weak cold front will move through early this morning bringing increasing winds and drier air. However, the front will not move through fast enough to prevent the formation of dense fog. That said, the front may cause the fog to erode across western portions of the advisory before expiration. ...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM EST this morning.
* LOCATIONS...The western Piedmont of North Carolina and eastern and southern portions of Upstate South Carolina.
* VISIBILITY...One quarter mile or less at times.
* IMPACTS...Limited visibilities will make travel very difficult.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ALEXANDER ... CABARRUS ... CATAWBA ... CLEVELAND ... DAVIE ... GASTON ... IREDELL ... LINCOLN ... MECKLENBURG ... ROWAN ... UNION
