Flood Watch until 02:21PM
...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... The Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northwest Washington and west central Washington, including the following counties, in northwest Washington, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Skagit, and Whatcom. In west central Washington, King, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston.
* Through Thursday afternoon
* Rainfall totals of 2 to almost 5 inches have fallen over the Olympic Mountains, with 1 to 4 inches at Mount Rainier and around 1 to 3 inches further north over the Cascades. The snow level is around 9000 feet. Rain will continue at times tonight and Wednesday, though amounts will be less that what occurred today. A second frontal system will bring another 1 to 4 inches of rain Wednesday night and Thursday, with the snow level falling from 7000 feet to 4000 feet as the system moves through.
* The two systems in close succession present a threat of flooding on rivers in Western Washington. Flooding could begin tonight or Wednesday. It looks like the threat is for a relatively minor flooding episode. Some of the rivers to be at risk the earliest include the Snoqualmie, Nooksack, White, Tolt, and Skykomish Rivers. Many others are at risk as well. Check out our website and the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service webpage for details.
* AFFECTED AREAS: GRAYS HARBOR ... JEFFERSON
