During the evening of November 21st, 2017, the South River Police Department received reports of rumors circulating on social media referencing threats made to the South River High School.

The South River Police Department Detective Bureau immediately initiated a thorough investigation which concluded at approximately 10:30pm. Ultimately, the investigation proved the threats to be NOT CREDIBLE.

As part of the investigation and as a precautionary measure, the South River Police Department, along with canine units, conducted a comprehensive sweep of the building. No suspicious items were found.

Because the conduct did not rise to the criminal level, no criminal charges have been filed. However, the incident has been referred to the South River High School for possible disciplinary action.
