Big River- Death Investigation

LOCATION: State Hwy 62/Rio Mesa Drive, Big River
VICTIM: Unidentified female
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at approximately 6:35 am, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from a subject reporting what they believed to be human skeletal remains in the area of State Hwy 62 and Rio Mesa Drive in Big River. Deputies from the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station responded to the area and confirmed the remains to be human.
A coroner investigator and detectives were requested to respond to the location. The coroner investigator took possession of the skeletal remains. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. At the time of this release, the victim has not been positively identified.
