POLICE REQUEST ASSISTANCE WITH CAR JACKING INCIDENT
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – November 20 TH, 2017 – The Hollister Police Department is requesting the public’s help with locating a carjacking suspect.
On Sunday November 19th at about 1:00 pm, a unknown suspect approached a man on the 900 block of Apricot Lane and brandished a firearm. He demanded to take the man’s vehicle.
The victim ran to a nearby house to ask for help. The susepect, however, struggled with the car and was unsuccessful in taking the vehicle. Apparently, the suspect did not know how to operate a manual transmission. The suspect was last seen on foot toward Westside Blvd.
Police searched the area but the suspect was not located. The suspect was recorded on a nearby surveillance camera that resulted in a far away picture of the suspect. The suspect was wearing a Nike hooded sweatshirt at the time of the crime.
The man is described as a Hispanic male adult approximately 25-28 years old, approximately 5’ 5” tall and weighing about 160 lbs. He was wearing a dark grey sweatshirt and dark colored jeans with white dirty shoes.
The Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information regarding this case. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Hollister Police Department at 831-636-4330.
