Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rasheed W. Cotton, 40, of Newark, for an aggravated assault that occurred on Wednesday, November 11th, 2017.

At approximately 8:15 a.m., police responded to a West Ward residence on a call of an aggravated assault. A man had been stabbed following an argument with a man he knows. The victim was transported to University Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Rasheed W. Cotton as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault.

While police are actively searching for Cotton, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets. He is 5’5” tall and weighs about 135 lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo of a tear drop under his left eye.
