Narrative: The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping detectives identify a female forgery suspect, who was also in possession of stolen property.

On 10/26/17, a Camarillo resident reported his personal checks as stolen. During the course of the investigation, it was learned some of the victim’s personal checks had been forged and deposited into a local bank, via an ATM. Security photos of the female suspect who deposited the stolen checks were provided by the bank.

On 10/31/17, Camarillo detectives released a news story asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The news story included still photos taken from the security footage, via the ATM. Over the course of eight days, the Camarillo Investigations Unit received numerous anonymous tips, including one that named Corrina Navarro as the suspect, in the security photos.

During the investigation, detectives found additional evidence implicating Navarro and confirmed she was the female suspect shown on the ATM photos. On 11/16/17, Camarillo Detectives located Navarro residing in a local motel and arrested her for P.C. 496(a) – Possession of Stolen Property and P.C. 530.5(a) – Identity Theft.
