The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

November 10th

1031 Hours: Officer Palacio contacted and arrested a 32-year-old Oakland female for her outstanding warrant on Cherry Street at Graham Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1342 Hours: Officers Palacio and Rivas contacted and arrested a 44-year-old transient male for vandalism, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for violating the terms of his probation on the 35200 block of Newark Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

2009 Hours: Officer Johnson issued a citation to a 21-year-old Union City female for false vehicle registration in the NewPark Mall parking lot. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

2246 Hours: While investigating a report of a group of suspicious males on Haley Street at Jarvis Avenue, Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 23-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

November 11th

0919 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a stolen black 1995 Honda Accord (CA License #3KNM610) on the 35600 block of Haley Street.

0937 Hours: Officer Quinonez investigated an auto burglary on the 37200 block of Cherry Street. The loss was paperwork and credit cards.

1154 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a battery case on Thornton Avenue at Spruce Street. The known suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation is ongoing.

1543 Hours: Officers Taylor and Jackman respond to Sears, NewPark Mall on a report of a theft. Officer Jackman located the suspect, a 61-year-old transient male on Mowry Avenue at 880. The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting and his outstanding warrant. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1659 Hours: Officer Quinonez responded to a disturbance at Taqueria Los Gallos, 35232 Newark Boulevard. A 30-year-old male suspect was contacted and arrested for his outstanding warrant and booked into the Fremont Jail.

1943 Hours: Officer Piquette and Field Training Officer Arroyo contacted and arrested a 25-year-old Fremont male for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant while conducting a probation search at the EZ-8 Motel, 5555 Cedar Court. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2334 Hours: Officer Piquette and Field Training Officer Arroyo contacted and arrested a 38-year-old Newark female for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a Police Officer on the 5600 block of Jarvis Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

0021 Hours: Officer Piquette and Field Officer Arroyo initiated a traffic stop on an 18-year-old Fremont male for “spinning donuts” in the Sportsfield Park parking lot, 6800 Mowry Avenue. The driver was issued a citation and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

November 12th

0844 Hours: Officer Quinonez investigated the theft of a white 2000 Ford Pickup Truck (VIN # 1FTNX21F1YEC02800) on the 5800 block of Riley Way.

1019 Hours: Officer Wang investigated the theft of a 2011 Honda Accord on the 39900 block of Parada Street. The vehicle was recovered by the Vacaville Police Department later in the day.

1040 Hours: Officer Quinonez investigated a package theft on the 5700 block of Oceanspray Road.

2205 Hours: Officer Wallace contacted and arrested a 21-year-old San Jose male for his outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on the 6100 block of Jarvis Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

2339 Hours: Officers Herbert and Wallace responded to a disturbance in the Home Depot parking lot, 5401 Thornton Avenue. A 22-year-old and a 25-year-old male, both from Newark were arrested for mutual battery. Both suspects were booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
