On Sunday evening, November 12, 2017, at approximately 5:49 PM, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station received a call of a victim being assaulted with a baseball bat, and stabbed, on the 19400 block of Stillmore Street in Canyon Country.

Several patrol units responded to the emergent call along with Los Angeles County Fire personnel. The victim, a 60-year-old male, was found at the location suffering from multiple stab wounds, and he was transported to to a local hospital.

The subject (suspect) fled the location prior to the deputies’ arrival. Investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted by a 17-year-old male of Canyon Country. Deputies were able to make contact with the juvenile's family members, and the father of the teen eventually brought him to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station later Sunday evening. The 17-year-old boy was charged with Attempted Murder, and transported to Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
