LASD SIB: *3rd Update* #LASD Named Suspect for Shooting Death Investigation,8600 Somerset Boulevard,Paramount 11/05

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigating into the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on the 8600 block of Somerset Boulevard, Paramount, on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at approximately 1340 hours. 

During the investigation a person of interest was identified, based on physical evidence, and interviews; which included the person of interest and witnesses. 

Detectives determined the person of interest is the suspect for the related crimes.  The case was presented to the Districts Attorney’s Office for filing on Thursday November 9th, 2017 and formal charges were filed against suspect Sherman Myles Booking #5148039.

The suspect is described as a male black, 29 years of age.  The suspect does not have a bail.  The investigation is still active and on-going.  There is no further information at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigating into the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on the 8600 block of Somerset Boulevard, Paramount, on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at approximately 1340 hours. 
 
The individuals that were detained in Compton, do not appear to be responsible for the Paramount homicide.  However, investigators have learned that the Los Angeles Police Department has detained another individual possibly tied to the Paramount murder.  At this stage of the investigation he is a person of interest pending further investigation. 
 
The investigation continues and no further information is available at this time.

*Update* #LASD Death Investigation, 8600 block Somerset Boulevard, Paramount

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigating into the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on the 8600 block of Somerset Boulevard, Paramount, on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at approximately 1340 hours. 
 
Detectives have learned that the suspect, described as a male Black, driving a red Lexus vehicle, was involved in a road rage incident near the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, in which the suspect discharged several rounds into the air.  The victim of the road rage incident was not injured. 
 
After the road rage incident, the suspect drove to an apartment complex on the 8600 block of Somerset Boulevard, and attempted to carjack a male Black adult.  During the course of the crime, the carjacking victim was shot and killed.   The suspect fled the apartment complex in the Lexus, and carjacked a red Mustang at gun point on the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Alondra Boulevard, Paramount.  The victims of this carjacking were not injured.
 
The suspect again fled the scene and crashed into a Cadillac near the intersection of Greenleaf Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard, Compton.  The driver of the Cadillac sustained minor injuries.  Upon  arrival to the traffic collision, deputies learned that the suspect was picked up by unknown person(s) in a Black Kia.   A search of the area was conducted,  and the Kia was located parked in front of a home on 1300 block of Sloan Avenue, Compton. Several individuals were detained. 
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no more additional information available at this time.

UNIT:  LASD Homicide Bureau – Lt. Moore
 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are responding to the 8600 block of Somerset Boulevard, Paramount, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
