Narrative:
Camarillo Detectives arrested S- Isidro Herrera for sexually assaulting a victim after he helped her change a flat tire.
On 10/28/2017, an adult female victim contacted the Camarillo Police Department and reported an incident in which she had been sexually assaulted by a male adult. The victim told deputies that an unknown male suspect (Herrera) stopped to help her change a flat tire, near La Vista and Los Angeles Ave in Somis.. The victim offered to pay the suspect $50.00 for helping her with the tire. When Herrera finished changing the tire, he declined the money and asked the victim for a handshake. While shaking the victim’s hand, Herrera pulled the victim towards him and hugged her. The victim pulled away from Herrera and Herrera used his body weight to pin the victim against her car, where he attempted to kiss her, wrap his arm around her body and tried to touch her breast. Herrera then placed his hand on the victim’s bare leg and attempted to put his hand up her shorts. The victim was able to break away from Herrera and get into the driver’s seat of her vehicle. Herrera followed the victim and sat on her lap and began stroking her hair telling her everything was okay. Herrera got off of the victim and the victim was able to shut her door and drive away.
Camarillo Patrol deputies responded to help the victim, began an investigation and were able to discover the identity of the suspect.
On 11/07/2017, Camarillo Detectives contacted (S) Herrera near his home in Ventura and arrested him for PC 243.4(a) – Sexual Battery by force. Herrera was arrested without incident, booked into the Main Jail and his bail was set at $20,000.
