Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force Vice Operation Leads to 5 Arrests

  4. Female, SHALONNA JANIELE MARTIN, 19, San Bernardino Resident
  5. Male, NOE SORIANO, 18, Pomona Resident 
Suspect LOPEZDELEON was previously arrested in January 2017 for 647(b) PC – Prostitution during an undercover vice operation in Pomona.

NARRATIVE:
On Tuesday, November 7th, The Pomona Police Department conducted a vice operation focused on the area known as the Holt Corridor. Using plainclothes and uniformed officers, the coordinated effort resulted in 5 arrests for 653.22(a) PC Loitering with Intent to Commit Prostitution. The operation was a success and similar operations are scheduled to take place in the future.
 
The “Holt Corridor” encompasses a major thoroughfare in the City of Pomona.  It is nationally known as a track/blade where individuals can negotiate sexual acts in exchange for currency. These crimes are detrimental to the safety and well being of the citizens and business owners of Pomona.  The goal of the operation was to target prostitution related crimes and focus attention on the entire Holt Corridor with a priority placed on recovering juveniles, arresting prostitutes and arresting johns.
 
Uniformed patrol officers and plainclothes officers from the Major Crimes Task Force took part in the operation which resulted in the arrest of 5 subjects on suspicion of 653.22(a)(1) PC- Loitering with Intent to Commit Prostitution:

  • TRENICE HARTALIZE FAVORS, 20, Apple Valley Resident
  • JACARAH JANAE FARRIS, 19, Las Vegas Resident
  • SHALONNA JANIELE MARTIN, 19, San Bernardino Resident
  • NOE SORIANO, 18, Pomona Resident
 
The operation was conducted in response to numerous complaints received from residents and local business owners. The Pomona Police Department is taking a proactive approach to improving the quality of life by addressing and deterring human trafficking and prostitution activities along the Holt Ave corridor.
