SUMMARY:

On November 7, 2017, at approximately 4:45 pm, deputies from the Chino Hills Station were dispatched to the 16000 block of Butterfield Ranch Road regarding an animal cruelty call. The reporting party stated that a male subject was pouring boiling hot water into a dog cage and he could hear the dog yelping in pain. When deputies arrived on scene and contacted the reporting party, he stated he observed the male subject pouring the boiling hot water on the dog at least five times and had captured the incident on video.

Deputies responded to the location, contacted the subject, Enping Qu, and conducted a welfare check on the dog. The Inland Valley Humane Society responded and measured the water in the kettle at 129 degrees using a temperature gauge. The dog was taken to an Inland Valley Humane Society contracted veterinarian and will remain in their care for examination and observation.
