Recovered Stolen Property Available to View Online

CORONA, CA-- On Oct. 23, 2017, Corona Police Department detectives recovered a substantial amount of suspected stolen property following a residential burglary investigation with two people arrested. Forensic Technicians cataloged and photographed the recovered property that is now available for viewing on our website: www.CoronaCA.gov/StolenProperty.

Due to the ongoing criminal case it is important to identify the owners of the property recovered, however we are not currently permitted to release the property. We will need authorization from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office in order to release any of the property. The timeframe for this authorization is unknown at this time.

• The property shown in the photographs will only be released if it has been reported stolen to a law enforcement agency in a theft or burglary incident with a case number assigned.
• A description of the stolen property you recognize in the photos posted on our website will also need to be included in the original theft or burglary report to law enforcement.
• Photos of the stolen items, preferably with the owner shown with the property (wearing jewelry, for instance), are helpful.
• Purchase receipts that clearly describe the item(s) can also help to expedite the return of the property to the rightful owners.

These controls are in place to make sure property is only released to the owner(s). After viewing the photos and noting the letter and number in the photo of the property you believe is yours, please fill in the online form with all of the information requested. Incomplete information in the online form may delay the response.

The Corona Police Department Property Administrators will be notified of your request to view the property. They will call you and set up an appointment for you to see the property. We ask for your patience as this process may involve numerous victims to be contacted.

We appreciate your patience and the assistance we received in both showing the crime on video and the tips from the public that resulted in the arrests and recovery of the property. Together, we can make a positive difference in this community, as this case so clearly shows.

For questions relating to the case, please contact Detective Garey Painter at 951-739-4880 or via email at [email protected].
