Marietta STEP (Specialized Traffic Enforcement Program) officers are now on scene. GSP was working an accident there earlier. The driver involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. As a standard procedure, GSP turned over the investigation to MPD STEP officers as soon as they were notifed the driver died.
