Jackson police have arrested a man responsible for a November 5 shooting that injured two people. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. at T&D Corner Stop, located at 602 Whitehall Street. A male and female were shot. Both were treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators developed Markist Cole, 18, as the suspect and issued warrants for his arrest. Cole surrendered at the Jackson Police Department today and is being held at the Madison County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow morning in Jackson City Court on charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and Use of a Firearm during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
