Victim Shot Several Times in Violent Shooting (SRPD 17-14698)

On Monday, November 6, 2017, at approximately 3:02 p.m., Santa Rosa Police Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Corby Avenue for a gunshot victim.

As officers arrived, they located a male victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The victim’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The initial investigation revealed the victim was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The victim was shot and hit several times by an unknown number of suspects.

Detectives from the Gang Crimes Team and the Violent Crimes Investigations Team were called to assist and take over the investigation. See attached photographs.

Detectives are continuing their investigation and believe the shooting was a targeted incident, but the motive is unknown.

The Santa Rosa Police Department is encouraging anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the incident to call the Gang Crimes Team at (707) 543-3670.

A reward up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance “Take Back Our Community Program.” The reward is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in this shooting.

The victim’s name will not be released at this time due to violent nature of the crime, and the fact the investigation is still ongoing.
