Modesto CA – On Sunday, November 5, 2017, at about 1:13 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call in the 1700 Block of Vivian Road for domestic violence. Two deputies responded to the 911 call and arrived on scene at about 1:21 a.m. Shortly after arriving they broadcast that shots had been fired and a male at the residence was struck by gunfire. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the male to a local hospital for treatment.
The male was released from the hospital earlier this afternoon, and his name is not being released during the on-going criminal investigation. The deputy involved in the shooting has been identified as Christopher Hendee a 5-year law enforcement veteran. Deputy Hendee is currently on paid administrative leave which is standard protocol.
Detectives continue to investigate the officer-involved shooting and will not release any specific details about the on-going criminal investigation at this time.
