Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for portions of Athens County until 8:45 AM.

At 2:46 AM, gauge reports indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 2 to 2.5 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly on medium sized creeks.  Some locations that will experience flooding include Athens, Glouster, Chauncey, Jacksonville, Trimble, Amesville, Guysville, Stewart, Stroud Run State Park, Burr Oak State Park and The Plains.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS;
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
