Motorist arrested for felony hit and run, felony DUI, and felony child endangerment.

On Friday October 3rd at about 3:45pm, a 34-year-old motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she struck another vehicle in the 1100 block of Valley Drive. After refusing to exchange information with the other driver, the suspect fled the scene. The suspect then drove her vehicle through barriers and onto the grounds of the Hermosa Beach Farmer’s Market while it was in progress. The suspect struck a Vendor booth before fleeing the Farmer’s Market. No one at the Farmers Market was injured. HBPD Officers located and stopped the vehicle in the 600 block of 8th Street. The driver was identified as Stefanie Ackerman of Manhattan Beach. A 7-year-old minor child that Ackerman had been babysitting was in the back seat of the suspect vehicle. The child sustained a minor injury and was released to her mother. Ackerman was subsequently arrested for suspicion of Felony DUI, Felony Hit and Run, and Felony Child Endangerment. The investigation is ongoing.
