Oakland City man arrested for Criminal Mischief.

On November 3, 2017, at 9:17 p.m. law enforcement were sent to the area of Lincoln Street and Oak Street in Oakland City, Indiana to speak with a repo company who had experienced damage to their recovery vehicle while attempting a repo. Upon arriving Deputy U.B. Smith and Special Deputy Zach Lienemann spoke with the repo company and they provided paperwork that showed they were to repossess a Black 2015 Chrysler 200 at a nearby residence. The repo company advised that 32 year old Uriah Russell of Oakland City came out of the residence and jumped in the car as it was being loaded and drove off with it causing damage to the repo vehicle.

After an investigation was conducted Mr. Russell was located and taken into custody by Deputy Lienemann. The vehicle was released to the repo company. Mr. Russell was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Criminal Mischief. He has since posted a $550 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
